Last winter, Canadian band The Rest were a few weeks away from completing their album Seesaw when a hard disk glitch wiped out their recordings. Luckily for them, they managed to salvage the album a few months down the road. The band is looking forward to releasing Seesaw early 2012, and in the interim they have launched a double A-side that's available for free at Bandcamp until Halloween.

The Rest - Always On My Mind / The Last Day
The Heavy Dream is Canadian Dave King's latest musical venture. His album Under the Golden Sun is the product of over a year's worth of recording, with help from Pat Sansone (Wilco, The Autumn Defense), Paul Linklater and James Strachan. The 7" single featuring the title track is available for free on Bandcamp until the album is released in October.
